Meet Janie
Janie Ferneau, MSN, RN, is a nursing educator, registered nurse, veteran, and student advocate with more than 20 years of healthcare experience.
Caring with Clarity grew from the real conversations nursing faculty have every day — the conversations where compassion, accountability, clinical judgment, and professional standards all meet.
Janie created Caring with Clarity to help faculty coach students with structure, consistency, and compassion while maintaining the standards that protect patients and the nursing profession.
Caring with Clarity was created for faculty who care deeply, but know they cannot carry everything.
The Caring with Clarity Framework
Caring with Clarity provides a structured coaching framework that helps nursing faculty guide meaningful conversations with confidence, consistency, and compassion.
Rather than focusing solely on academic performance, the framework helps faculty recognize patterns, foster reflection, strengthen accountability, and connect students' learning behaviors to the clinical judgment required for safe professional practice.
At its heart, Caring with Clarity shifts the coaching conversation from:
"How do I fix this for the student
to:
"How do I help this student recognize what is happening, understand why it matters, and take the next accountable step?"
Because the goal is not to make coaching more complicated.
The goal is to make caring clearer.
